Frances Young

Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for Frances Lenora Wilson Young at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Arcadia, LA. Rev. Jon Lord will officiate. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time Saturday. Interment will follow at the Arcadia Cemetery.   Frances was born September 15, 1926 in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana to J.W. and Minnie Bridges Wilson. She entered into eternal rest after an unexpected and short battle with cancer on June 8, 2016 in Austin, Texas. Frances was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Arcadia, LA. She was treasurer of the Arcadia Homemakers Club for several years. Frances was employed at the Army Ammunition Plant in Minden, LA for 27 years. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Truis R. Young, her parents, her sister Ruby and sister-in-law Maxine Poindexter Wilson. Frances is survived by her daughter Jo Ann Young Nicholson and husband Jim of Austin, TX, grandchildren Paul Nicholson of Austin, TX and Lesley Nicholson Richards and husband Tim, great-grandchildren Alex Marie and Karl James Richards of Katy TX, brother Johnny Wilson of Monroe, LA and sister Pearl Wilson Harvey and husband Don of San Antonio, TX. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Arcadia, 2122 Myrtle Street, Arcadia, LA 71001.
