Francis was born December 13, 1933 in Martin, La to Verna Powell Leach and Newton Dawson Leach and passed away at his residence with his family by his side October 26, 2017. He worked for Southern Aviation Aircraft for several years before leaving and starting his own Aircraft Engine business known as Leach's Aero Engine Service. He always loved telling stories of his childhood and vacations he had gone on over the years. Francis loved to travel. He was an avid collector of just about anything you could imagine, old cars, clocks, antiques, and motorcycles. Francis overhauled and built aircraft engines up until he was diagnosed with cancer. After his surgery he continued making daily trips down to the shop to supervise and guide his son in continuing his legacy. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family, and all that knew him.
Preceding Francis in death were his parents, and his wife Sadie Giddens Leach. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tony L. Leach and girlfriend Blair Ellis of Shreveport, LA, Vanessia Robinson and husband, Ronnie of Benton, LA, and Tammy Leach of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Brittoni Leach, Cody Tate, Brandon Robinson, Chris Robinson, Ryan Robinson, Jeremy Leach, Brian Tate, and Tracy Tate; great-grandchildren, Dawson Lynn Leach, Hunter Reed, Harley Martin, James Leach, Gauge Garner, Waylan Garner, Landan Tate, Bryson Leach, Wesley Tate, Brantley Robinson, and Lexie Robinson; and his loving girlfriend of 23 years Isabell Robinson.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Blair Ellis who took care of their daddy on a daily basis.
Honoring Francis as pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandson, Jeremy Leach, Cody Tate, Ryan Robinson, Chris Robinson, Brandon Robinson, Robert Brooks, and Dawson Lynn Leach.
