Fred Charles Myers, Jr.

Fred C. Myers, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mr. Myers was born in Corvallis, Oregon, September 27, 1926 to Dr. and Mrs. Fred C. Myers, Sr. He graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Geology and received a master\'s degree from the University of Kansas. He created a successful drilling company, Triad Drilling Company, in El Dorado, Arkansas and later, Emco Drilling Operations. He was a dedicated professional; but, more importantly, he was a generous, kind-hearted, compassionate person who never knew a stranger. He was a devoted family man. His good-natured disposition, positive outlook, and sense of humor enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. His many hobbies included a love of travel, reading, furniture-making, and gardening. Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Dr. Jack Myers. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Jeanette; his son, Gary; his daughter, Teresa; his sister, Dr. Karen Turner; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; his extended family and numerous friends. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Mr. Myers\' neighbors who graciously offered their help, support, and prayers, as well as to his caring health-care givers in his final months. Mr. Myers found joy and gave joy in every day he lived. A private family ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Marshall St. Chapel, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana 71101.
