SHREVEPORT, LA - Fred Alvin Smiley, 83, an Air Force veteran, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2017, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Grave side services will be held at Northwest Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Ander Smiley, mother Lottie Mae Cunningham; son, Darrell Smiley; and brothers, Lavell, Glen and L.V. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary D. Smiley, of 62 years; son, Adrian and wife Beth; daughter, Renita Williams and husband John; daughter in-law Shannon Smiley; sisters, Vera and Thera Lee, brother Wilburn; and 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donate to St. Jude's or ALS Foundation.
