Gary Wayne Frake, Sr.

Gary Wayne Frake, Sr., 68, of Shreveport, Louisiana; passed peacefully in his sleep on Monday, December 25, 2023, at his home in Greenwood, Louisiana.

Gary was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 13, 1955, to the late Augustus Frake and Maxie Buie Frake. Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Susie Johnson of Shreveport.

Gary retired from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Department, where he served for 30 years. During his time at the Sheriff’s Department, he served as a Corrections Deputy, Homicide Detective, and Patrol Sergeant. He was a hardworking, kindhearted man with a loving spirit and a giving soul that would help anyone in need. More than anything, Gary loved spending time with his family and felt blessed to help others.

He is survived by his children: Gary w. Frake, Jr., Larry Frake (mother, Karen Turcotte), Tiffany Frake, and Angeline Frake (mother, Angie Frake); his brother, Toby Frake (wife, Barbra) and brother-in-law James Johnson; grandchildren: Aaliyah, Nita, Sean, Taeshun, Shylah, Ella, Zane, Alaysia, Zion, Jaxon, Aston, and Baby Crawford on the way, all of Shreveport.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 5, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Funeral services honoring the life of Gary will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Jimmy Buie. The interment will be held at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road in Shreveport. Honoring Gary as pallbearers will be Kevin McClure, Danny Schevers, Jay Wright, Carl Townley, Rusty Greene, and Jared Wright.
