Gary R Goodnight

Arcadia- Gary Ronald Goodnight was born on March 4, 1948 in Stella, MO. He was the seventh of twelve children born to Ethel and Thurman Goodnight. He passed away at his home in Arcadia, LA on September 30, 2020. He married Brenda Kay Schmidt on August 24, 1968 and they had two girls Joy and Melissa. He spent his life working for Kerr Glass from 1967-2010. He loved the outdoors and spent many years fishing, running trot lines, and hunting deer. He loved just sitting around a campfire with his family and friends. He was a member of the 3 Mile Hunting club of Arcadia, LA. He was a member of the Sand Springs Elks Lodge for many years and enjoyed participating in all of their activities. He is survived by his wife Brenda, their daughters Joy Samford and husband Royce, Melissa Carter and Eddie, and bonus daughter, Brenda Rooks and husband Rodney. His brothers Calvin and wife Vicki, and Clarence Goodnight. His sisters Margie McLaughlin, Zelda and husband Steve Glasgow , Lorene and husband Ron McGill. Six grandchildren Taylor Hoey and husband Kyle, Tristan Christlieb, Hunter Rooks and wife Jacie, Alexus Williams, Garrett Williams, Kaytlin Christlieb. Two great grandchildren Holden Hoey and Walker Rooks, god daughter Pennie Tomlin, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Donald, Frankie, and John Robert Goodnight; his sisters Sylvia Goodnight, Bonnie Wolfe, and Faye Jones.
