Gary Paul Yellen

Gary Paul “GP” Yellen, 74, was born on September 10, 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Sara Yellen and passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Growing up in Shreveport, GP attended Creswell Elementary School, Broadmoor Junior High and C.E. Byrd High School. Later, he worked in and managed the family business, Yellen’s Levis. After closing Yellen’s Jeans, he opened Yellen’s “Big and Tall” on Shreveport Barksdale Highway. Later, he worked at Burlington Coat Factory in various locations and was recognized many times as an outstanding sales person.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan and Mary Yellen; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Sara Yellen and sister, Darlene Yellen Swiff. Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Harvey Moise Yellen and wife, Marla; nieces, Kim Swiff Swartz and husband, David Carl, Helen Swiff Goodman and husband, Jason and Ansley Yellen Feldman and husband, Sandy; nephews, Brian Yellen and Jeff Yellen and wife, Jennifer and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Honoring GP as pallbearers will be David Carl Swartz, Jason Goodman, Michael Freed, Jeff Yellen, Gerald Swiff, Sarah Collier and Suzanne Harris.
