Gay Nell Booker May

Funeral services celebrating the life of Gay Nell Booker May will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Chapel, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana with Bro. Amador Santos and Bro. Ted Booker officiating. Interment will follow at Prude Cemetery, Stanley, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, Louisiana.

Gay Nell was born October 11, 1948, in Mansfield, Louisiana to J.J. and Edith “Bill” Booker and entered into rest on Sunday, December 31, 2023.

Gay Nell is preceded in death by her parents; son, David “Claw” Reynolds; sister, Mary Canipe; brothers, Richard Booker, and John McDonald; brother-in-law, Herman Nussman; sister-in-law, Sue Booker; nephews, Sandy Booker and Randy Canipe, Jr.; and her best friend, Margie Vest.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Frank May, Sr.; son, Frank May, Jr. and (Jessica); daughter, Edie Tingle (Victor); sisters, JoAnn Prince, and Linda Kaye Nussman; brothers, Johnny Ray Booker, Earl Booker (Amanda), Jackie Dale Booker, and Roland Booker; sisters-in-law, Jackie Booker, Sandra Prudhome, Linda Kammerer (Jake) and Diane Guy (Tommy); brother-in-law, Jim May (Bethany); grandchildren, Luke Tingle, Christopher May, Levi May and Grayson Tingle; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Booker family, along with numerous friends.

Honoring Gay Nell as pallbearers will be Jimmy Booker, Joseph Booker, Wilson Baker, Matt Ward, Sam Ward, and Ken Huckabee. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Baker, Bubba Booker, Steve Chadwick, Tommy Cunningham, and Melvin Booker.
