Gayla Jo Nix Davidson, our beloved mom, Meme, sister, aunt, and friend to all passed away on July 6, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Bellaire Baptist Church, 1210 Bellaire Blvd., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City. Officiating the service will be Dr. Randy Harper and Brother Scott O’Rear.
Born on March 2, 1961, to Lee and Billie Nix, Gayla brought joy and laughter into the lives of her three children, Kellye, Gary, and Kayla. Her love extended to her eight cherished grandchildren: Austin, Conner, Ellie, Tyler, Harper, Kai, Liam and Ian.
With her stubbornness and unwavering determination, Gayla approached challenges head-on. Her strength of will served as an inspiration to those around her, showcasing her resilience in the face of adversity. Her ability to find joy in the simplest of things and embrace life’s adventures with and open heart touched the lives of many.
Honoring as pallbearers will be Nick Navejas, Paul St. Claire, Adam Spoor, Austin Spoor, Austin Spoor, Braden Pachero and Matt Jackson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Conner St. Claire, Tyler Davidson and Adam Racherbaumer.
Gayla will be fondly remembered for her vivacious spirit, her love for her family, and her ability to find beauty in the world. While her presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of joy, spontaneity, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
