Gene Grigg, Sr.

Bienville-Funeral services will be held for Gene Grigg, Sr., age 80, at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Bro. Max Raspbury will officiate. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Haughton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Gene was born September 20, 1935 to Robert Crockett Grigg and Vallie C. Day Grigg in Bienville, Louisiana. He worked in the oilfield as a company man for many years. Gene was a member of Jamestown Baptist Church. Gene is preceded in death by his wife Jane Ragland Grigg, parents Robert and Vallie Grigg and by brother Crockett "Sonny" Day Grigg. He is survived by his son Gene Grigg, Jr. and wife Greta of Bienville, LA, stepsons Steven Hall and wife Barbara of Bienville, LA and Jeffery Hall and wife Tanya of South Carolina, by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and by Chris Hay who was like another son. Pallbearers will be Terry Ford, Paul Cook, Gordon Howard, Glynn Howard, Billy "Bubba" Barfield and Kirk Pullig. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Pullig, David Thibodaux, Chirs Bueche, J.W. Slack and Gene Gueniot, Sr. The family would like to thank Premier Hospice, especially David, Shannon, Bridgett, Nikki and Muffin, for their care and compassion.
