George W. Chambers, IV

BENTON, LA - George William Chambers, IV passed away May 22, 2016, from a tragic accident. George was born December 6, 1974, in Shreveport, LA., the only child of the late Debbie Rowlen Chambers and George W. Chambers, III. George attended Apollo Elementary School, Benton Middle School, and graduated from Plain Dealing Academy in 1993. He enjoyed playing football during his high school years. George knew from the time he graduated that he wanted to be a fireman and a cowboy riding horses and raising cattle. He started attending and participating in rodeos at a very young age and continued this throughout his life. He and his wife, Winde, gave this same love to their two beautiful children, George, V and Ava. In addition, George was an avid hunter and fisherman, taking a month off each year to go hunting with his son George, V. His love of the outdoors was apparent in just about everything he did and accomplished, all of which he passed down to George, V and Ava. George and his children were truly inseparable sharing many life experiences together. George served on the Bossier City Fire Department for 21 years. He loved his fellow firemen, serving along side his best friend, Rusty Grantham. George was a great fireman meeting every challenge that was presented to him. With Rusty's encouragement George went on to take and pass the test which would enable him to apply for the job of Captain. George was a true servant to the people of Bossier City. The Lord reached down and touched George's heart while attending Cowboy Church during the finals of the Pineywood's Youth Rodeo, March 20th, Palm Sunday. After listening to the service lead by Pastor Dennis Aaron, George rededicated his life to the Lord. Heaven opened up and he will be gloriously reunited with his mother and other loved ones. George had a quiet way about him, but always greeted you with a radiant smile, a handshake, or a hug. He enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a family man giving all he had emotionally and spiritually to his loving wife Winde and his precious children, as well as his entire extended family. George will be dearly missed by the lives he has touched and those he has served. He is survived by his wife Winde Reyenga Chambers, son George William Chambers, V, daughter Ava Grace Chambers; father George W. Chambers III; great aunt Cloie Minter; aunt Dianne Schick and husband Woody; mother-in-law Martha Peace Reyenga; sisters-in-law Mary Wilks and husband Scott; Missy Durbin and husband Brad; Leslie Reyenga Matthews; brother-in-law Matthew Reyenga; numerous nieces and nephews and cousin Cody Schick.
