A private graveside service was held for George C. Love, Jr., who died Monday, May 29, 2017, in Shreveport. He was a native of Monroe, LA, and the son of the Mr. & Mrs. George C. Love, Sr., of Monroe, but had lived in Shreveport and in Houston, TX, for many years.
George was a graduate of Neville High School in Monroe and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and he retired from Texas Eastern Corporation in Houston, TX after 35 years of service. He was a member of The Church of the Holy Cross, Episcopal, Shreveport and Christ Church Cathedral, Episcopal, Houston.
He is survived by many close friends whose kindness and friendship meant everything to him; especially Dan and Barb Whalen, Tom Campbell and Stan Hancock. He is also survived by four cousins: Mrs. Richard Rucker of Seattle, WA; Mrs. Gordon Orsburn of Mcloud, OK; Mrs. William George of Rockville, MD; and Mrs. Kenneth Neville of Seattle, WA.
