George Hoff Lynn

LENA, LA- George Hoff Lynn, 88, passed away March 20, 2015, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015, at Wise Memorial Baptist Church in Galbraith, LA. Interment followed at Wise Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. After a career of cotton and soybean farming, he became famous for growing beautiful roses which he enjoyed giving to others. George met his future wife in 1947 when she was a teacher at Boyce High School and he was a member of the local professional baseball team. Left to cherish his beautiful memory is his wife of 64 years; Juanita Wise Lynn and his only child; Dr. Melissa Love Lynn. He is also survived by Jackie and Denise Wise, Josh and Rachel Wise, Sam, Christina, McKenzlea and Zowie Wise; and countless friends and neighbors. Serving as pallbearers were William Jackson Wise, William Joshua Wise, Samuel Jackson Wise, Gary Wise, Jr., Antonio Quiros, Zachary Quiros, Jerry Joseph Jones, Jr., Russell M. Cook, Jr. and Alonzo Lucas. Honorary pallbearer was Mario Quiros. We wish to especially thank Willis-Knighton Medical Center, the wonderful nurses and respiratory therapists of MICU, dialysis nurse, Dustin, Dr. Raj Gandhi, Dr. Rose Jumah, Dr. Robert Taylor, Dr. Jimmy Smith, our office staff family, Ramona, Sonya, Connie and Courtney, who were a constant source of love and support. We also wish to thank our pastor families, Dr. and Mrs. George Higgins, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lewis, and Mr. William O. Hunter III, Esquire. Mr. Lynn was a member of Wise Memorial Baptist Church where he had been a member since his marriage to Juanita there in 1950. The church was damaged recently in a storm and is in need of repairs.
