George Elvis McCart

Shreveport, LA - George Elvis McCart departed his earthly home and went to his Heavenly Home on January 19, 2016. He was born to Hattie Wallace McCart and Carson McCart on July 13, 1928 in Ringgold, LA. For 55 years he enjoyed spreading the Gospel, encouraged and meeting new people. During his illness he never lost his sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Thomas Edward McCart, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Left to remember the good life we had together is his wife of 67 years, Maudie Crews McCart; son, Marvin Lloyd McCart; sister, Virginia McCart Keim and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services for George will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Brother Robert Muntz officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the funeral home. Honoring George as pallbearers will be his nephews. The family would like to say a special thanks to the caregivers for all the care, love and support they gave to George during his illness. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice.
