A graveside service and burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Bro. Jerrell Head.

Georgia was born in Leesville, Louisiana on September 30, 1934 and entered into rest on January 20, 2025 at the age of 90.

Georgia retired from County Market as a meat wrapper and cherished all her co-workers.

She loved playing basketball and softball in her earlier years and bowling was her passion in her later years. Georgia loved to whistle and when she would make a strike, the whole bowling alley knew. I’m sure her whistles still echo off the walls of All Star Bowling Lanes to this day!

She was a great cook and her pot roast, picnic hams, coconut cake and beef stew were second to none! She often sent beef stew to the deer camp with her husband, Ralph, to share with everyone, but if Wesley Boddie was there, good luck on getting any of it! But honestly, that was okay because Wesley is who she really made it for to start with. She loved growing roses and ivy plants. She also loved taking pictures so much she would even take pictures of pictures! She was a people person and never met a stranger and being the center of attention was certainly no problem with her.

She also loved the Dallas Cowboys and the dismal season they had this year was probably more than she could take! She will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Georgia was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Cryer Haymon; father, Doc V. Haymon; her husband, Ralph Monk; brothers, O.W. Haymon,  Wallace Wayne Haymon; sister, Evalean Mattox Dew, and her son, Ronnie Gilcrease, who passed just three days before her.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Danny Gilcrease (Jennie), stepdaughter, Janet Pendleton; and sister, Shelby Kautz. She also had seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Haymon, Obie Galey, Shaun Pendleton, Mark Pendleton, Henry Grabener and Will Van den Boon. Honary pallbearers are Wesley Boddie and Jesse Laforest.

We would also like to thank one “special daughter,” Cindy Gilcrease, for all she did for Georgia and her husband, Ralph, over the past 50 years.
