Germaine "Gerri" Iness-Bowman Joubert

Funeral services for Germaine "Gerri" Iness-Bowman Joubert, 76, will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Keithville, 6295 Williams Rd, Keithville, LA. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Brother Mike Stowell. Gerri was born on August 28, 1944 to Ira and Iness Taylor Bowman in Ruston, Louisiana and passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Gerri was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always put God first. James, her husband of 57 years, lovingly describes her as "the love of my life, my best friend, my rock and my everything". Gerri's family was her whole life, and she was the glue that held the family together. Gerri was an avid reader and she loved horses. She will be truly missed by all who loved her. Gerri is preceded in death by parents; brother, John Taylor Bowman; nephew, Scott Lee Bowman. She is survived by her husband, James Larry Wayne Joubert; children, Tammy Young and husband, Jackie, Katrina Larey, Blenda Gour and husband, Mark, Wayne Joubert and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Joseph Sanders and wife, Presley, Chelsey Sanders, Dustin Gour and wife, Victoria, Caisse Gour, Hannah Stuart, Kaleb Joubert, Hailey-Ann Joubert and great-grandchild, Maci Gour. Honoring Gerri as pallbearers will be Kaleb Joubert, Joseph Sanders, Dustin Gour, Steve Opbroek, Rodney Koch and Greg Bowman. The family would like to express special thanks to the church family at First Baptist Church of Keithville.
