Glenda Faye "Boo-Boo" Campbell Green Wise made it to her final destination after a very short hospital stay on May 27, 2024 at the age of 65. Faye's capacity to love was shown through her daily life. She taught others to love by showing it to them; if you stayed around for a while, you became family; even if she didn't really feel well, she continued to take care of everyone else. She was a fantastic mama, not only to her own children, but to anyone and everyone she met. Her time as a schoolteacher made a huge difference in the lives of her students and co-workers.
Faye is survived by her husband, Billy Wise; sons, Adam Lamar Green, Thomas Joshua Green (Melissa), William Jacob Green (Natosha), William Oliver Wise, and Jake Wise.
Her passing has left a huge gap in the lives of her siblings, Rhonda Campbell Cates (Eddy), Linda Campbell Webb (Roger) and Rodney Allen Campbell (Susan). She leaves behind precious grandchildren, Raven Green, Aiden Green, Tiffany Green, Faylin Green, Fayth Green, Haley Wise, Heidi Winn, Emily Wise and one great-grandson, Alister Drake along with many beloved nieces and nephews, she also has two aunts, Emma Jean Hagar and Mary Ruth Luetkemeyer along with a host of cousins and friends to mourn her loss.
Our beautiful blond blue-eyed baby girl was born on January 1, 1959 in Orange, Texas with fully developed lungs which she often made use of very loudly! Faye was the third of four siblings born to deceased parents, Reverend William and Claudette Campbell. Faye was preceded in death by husband, Thomas Earl Green, an avid racer, an activity she enjoyed by serving as his pit crew. She lost her paternal grandparents, James Monroe and Etta Campbell and maternal grandparents, Claude and Effie Wiley as a young adult.
"The Campbell Kids" were raised to be productive responsible citizens. Faye was known by many names, Nana, Momma, Momma Faye, Mrs. Wise, and sister. Her many talents included fixing you a delicious filling meal, working on your engine, changing the tires on your car, and even teaching how to pull a trailer. She worked throughout her entire adult life while raising three sons alone after the death of her first husband. She attended Northwestern State University to obtain a degree in teaching, then met and married Billy. Their life together went through many phases, giving Faye and son, William, the opportunity to travel and make many friends while "on the road". She spent the last years of her life in Grand Cane, Louisiana, finding enjoyment in spending time with family while enjoying conversations on life with William and attending dance recitals with granddaughters.
Pallbearers will be Adam Green, Jacob Green, Joshua Green, Jake Wise, William Wise, Mike Prince, and Darren Craig.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Midway Baptist Church, Converse, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Bayou Scie Cemetery. A visitation will be held the same day from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
