Glenda Ruth Potter

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Glenda R. Potter, 74, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Oakmont Church of God, 5925 West 70th St., Shreveport, LA 71129. Family visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. and interment will follow at Forest Park on St. Vincent Ave. Pastor Doyce Smith will be officiating. Glenda was born in Shreveport, LA on March 11, 1942 to Charles Launius, Sr. and Laddie Clement Launius who preceded her in death. Her only son James Dean Potter also preceded her in death. She worked as a hairstylist at North Highland Beauty Salon for many years. She attended Oakmont Church of God and loved her church family. She is survived by her granddaughter and the love of her life Mary Grace "Gracie" Potter. Also surviving is her daughter-in-law Mary Beth Hutches Potter Hoffman, brother Charles Launius, Jr. and wife Becky, niece Tammie Jay, nephew Kevin Launius, special friend Mildred Barron, great nieces and nephews along with many other friends. Those serving as pallbearers are Jim Dailey, Robert Dykes, Jay Knighten, Jerry Reames and Jack Snead. Honorary pallbearer is J. W. Mitchell.
