SHREVEPORT, LA - Glenn E. Dickerson 68, of Shreveport, LA was born January 21, 1948. Our loving father went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 10, 2016 after a long-term illness. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 6-8:00 p.m. Chapel Services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 starting at 11:00 a.m. followed by graveside services at Forest Park West Cemetery. Glenn was preceded in death by his father Arthur A. Dickerson, mother Lena J. Dickerson and two brothers Leroy Dickerson and Donald Dickerson. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Kathern L. Dickerson; son, Walter W. Dickerson and wife, Melissa Dickerson; daughter Sharon E. Haynes and fiancé', Michael C. Van den Boom; three brothers, Robert Dickerson, Richard Dickerson, and Joe Dickerson; six grandchildren, Micah Miller, Kaylan "Bullfrog" Haynes, Jacob Seymour, Kaden " Papaw's Big Boy" Haynes, Maria Hicks, and Alyssa Hicks. As well as numerous other family and friends. Glenn was a Veteran of the US Army and was honorably discharged after 3 years. He then was employed by Arkla-Gas/CenterPoint Energy for 32 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Honoring Glenn as pallbearers will be Jeremy Jordan, Scott Haynes, Nathan Bradbury, Wade Jacobs, Brad Jacobs, James Jordan, and Joe Flores. The family would like to give a special thanks and sincere gratitude to Dr. Dewayne Keller and the Hospice Staff at Overton-Brooks Veterans Medical Center.
