Gloria Vaughn Edwards

Funeral services for Gloria Vaughn Edwards, 77, will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 11:00 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will take place at Forest Park West Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dean Johnson.

Gloria was born on May 3, 1947, in Monroe, Louisiana to James and Flora Vaughn and passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, in Shreveport.

Gloria was a resident of Keithville, Louisiana. She graduated from Woodlawn High School and attended Ayers Career College. She was the mother of three children, a grandmother of six, and a great-grandmother of two. She loved gardening, birds, and the Bible. She was the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother anyone would be lucky to have. She was loving, patient, and strong.

Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, John Edwards; parents, James and Flora Vaughn; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Linda Vaughn; brother, Jonathan Vaughn; and sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Scott Huddleston. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Greg Edwards and partner, Jolynn, Daphyne Welch, Vanessa Swenson and husband, Scott; granddaughters, Ashley Ott, Hailey Pate, Meagan Welch, and Savannah Swenson; great-grandsons, Damian and Kyas Pate; sisters, Cindy Vaughn, and Vicky Laiche.

Honoring Gloria as pallbearers will be Cindy Vaughn, Mathew Goff, Michael Pilgreen, James Vaughn, Kenny Bryant, Michael Welch, John Shore, and Ashley Frasier.

The family would like to express special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Willis-Knighton North and South ICU for the care and compassion they gave to Gloria.
