Gloria Janine Hux

Gloria Jeanine Hux Shreveport, LA - Gloria Janine Hux, 71, was born on September 13, 1944 in Mansfield, LA to Edward and Pauline DeSoto. She entered into rest on March 8, 2016 surrounded by her family. She graduated from Woodlawn High School May 1962 and continued her education at Louisiana Technical College. Janine worked for more than 30 years in local credit unions until her retirement in 2015 from Shreveport Police Federal Credit Union. She enjoyed listening to music, going to see the Eagles perform, exploring Estate sales, dining out and spending time with her family and friends. Services will be held Wednesday March 16, 2016 at Rose Neath Southside Chapel in Shreveport at 12:00 pm. Officiating will be Pastor Roger Morton, Barron Road Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm prior to the service on Wednesday. Place of interment will be Forest Park West Cemetery following the service. Janine was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Pauline DeSoto and her brother Timothy DeSoto. Left to cherish her memory, her husband of 33 years Robert E Hux III, daughter Ellen Creel and husband Bruce, sister Gwendolyn Patton and husband Guy, sister n law Helen Morton and husband Walter, grandson Randall Stader and fiancé Amber Sullivan, granddaughter Emily Ware and one great grandson Gavin Leigh Stader, nephew Edward Lazarus and wife Lisa, Niece Polly Fischer and husband Doug, Niece Cathy Hosey and husband Gregg, also to include a host of great nieces, nephews and many friends. Honoring Janine as pallbearers will be Jay Shane, Gregg Hosey, Eddie Lazarus, Randall Stader, Jimmy Barganquast, and Wesley Lazarus. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Ware, Doug Fischer, Danny Fogger, Cody Boyd and Shreveport Police Federal Credit Union staff and members. Janine was a caring and devoted wife, mother, friend and the best Mamaw. She was loved by many and will be missed by everyone who knew her. The family would like to thank Jean Davis with Hill Cross Hospice for her kindness and understanding during this very difficult time.
