STONEWALL, LA - After a 7 month battle with Leukemia, mom went home to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dan Allen, her parents, John and Myrtie Whitten, as well as her sister, Sue Weber. She is survived by her sons. Randy Allen and his wife, Sherry and Ronnie Allen; sisters, Mildred Morton and Mazie Goodman and brother, John R. Whitten; grandchildren, Shannon Saksa, Ryan Allen, Chase Allen, P.J. Standridge, Holly Taylor, and John Pridgen, as well as 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom were adored by Mom.
She worked many years as a school secretary and retired as a state employee. She thoroughly enjoyed her involvement in her church and especially the Choir. Her main priority was that of caring for her family. Many meals were served in her home for friends and family, with love. Our family is deeply grateful for all the prayers, visits, phone call and care given to Mom during her illness. The loving care and kindness given freely by her doctor, Bob Massengill, Christus Cancer Center Staff, caregivers and nurses, Michelle, Debbie, Raven Water, Sherry Allen, and Lottie Grice were awesome. Without a doubt this world was a better place with Mom in it.
Honoring Glory as pallbearers will be Ryan Allen, Chase Allen, Raymond Standridge, Shane Goodman Tim Saksa, and John Pridgen.
Funeral services for Glory will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, February 29, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Rev. Mike Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Stonewall Cemetery in Stonewall, LA. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside.
