Graveside services will be held for Glynn Clark Jones, age 77 of Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. The services will be held at the Prospect Community Church Cemetery in Florien on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Chance officiating.
Glynn was born in Florien, Louisiana on May 2, 1937 and he passed from this earth on September 19, 2014 at the Sabine Retirement Center in Many, Louisiana.
He was a graduate of Florien High School and served his country in the United States Army. He worked many years in the oil field and in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Industry, retiring from Jim South's Propane Company. Glynn loved basketball games and followed the Florien Black Cats for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Audie (Evans) Jones, a brother, Bo Jones, and a sister, Joan Pilcher, all of Florien. Those left behind to celebrate his memory are: sister, Gretchen Stephens of Beaumont, Texas, brother, Ralph Jones and wife, Dale of Many, Louisiana, eight nieces and nephews and two of the greatest friends anyone could ever have, Ernie Marsh and Sandy Martin.
The family wishes to thank the many people that visited Glynn in his last days. We also want to thank Dr. Lau and the wonderful nurses at Sabine Medical Center, the fabulous nurses and staff at Sabine Retirement Center and the supportive and considerate staff of Superior Hospice.
