Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for Grace R. Davis, 91, at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Arcadia. Rev. Jeff Hoffman will officiate. The interment will follow at the Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia from 5:30 p.m. through 7:00 p.m., February 27, 2015.
Mrs. Davis was born on March 10, 1923, in Decatur, Newton County Mississippi, to Henry Elmer Russell and Clara Williams Russell. She entered into rest on February 24, 2015, at Arcadia, Louisiana.
Mrs. Davis was the first woman to serve as a commissioned deputy with the Bienville Parish Sheriff\'s Office. She proudly served as a deputy for a period of 20 years, retiring in 1987.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Elmer Russell and Clara Williams Russell, her husband of 67 years, Hubert H. Davis, and her brothers, Fred \"Clinton\" Russell, Mason Russell, Otis Russell and Clois Russell.
She is survived by her son, H. Russell Davis and wife, Kathryn R. Davis, of Ruston, Louisiana; grandchildren, Rebecca D. Cruse and husband, Jason Cruse of Houston, Texas, Maryanne D. Smith and husband George Brian Smith Jr., of Ruston, Louisiana and Richard Wesley Davis and fiancé, Kim Rogers, of Shreveport, Louisiana, great-grandchildren Wesley James Stallings and Jackson Davis Stallings of Houston, Texas and George Brian Smith, III and Josephine Kathryn Smith of Ruston, Louisiana. She is also survived by two sister-in-laws, Barbara Jo Russell of Decatur, Mississippi and Nancy Russell of Newton, Mississippi and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Randy Price, Darrell Mills, James Stewart, James Pietsch, Bob Stewart and Larry Kennedy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sheriff John Ballance and members of the Bienville Parish Sheriff\'s Office.
