BOSSIER CITY, LA - Grace L. Doremus McCaleb, age 85, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014. Grace was born to Harvey Irving Doremus and Gladys Doremus in Bloomfield, New Jersey on May 12, 1929. Grace was one of seven children. She and her husband Edward Hill McCaleb were married for 67 years. Grace devoted her life to her two girls, her husband and her church. She and her husband Edward moved from Tennessee to Louisiana. She was an experienced seamstress and homemaker. She enjoyed time spent with her friends in her Sunday school class. Grace was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church from 1954 until it closed its doors in 2005. Upon the closing of Ingleside she moved her membership to Airline Baptist Church Bossier where she has been a loyal member
A daughter Edna Grace precedes her in death. Grace is survived by her husband Edward; her two daughters Shirley McCaleb Lautigar (Ronnie) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Ellie Grace McCaleb Long (Huey) of Benton, Louisiana; grandchildren Angie Bush, Joe Lautigar, Jennifer Pihakis, Staci Nicole Reddy and eight great grandchildren; Kaley, Emma, Mitchell, Jody, Marshall, Jr. "Beau", Carson, Lexi, and James Andrew.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel, 2201 Airline Drive in Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating will be Rev. Crawford Williams, assisted by Rev. Harrell Shelton. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.
