Gracie Rae Locke Hampton

KEITHVILLE, LA - Gracie Locke Hampton was born February 4, 1928 in Shreveport, LA to Linden L. Locke and Lois Blanche Lee Locke. She passed away on August 2, 2016 at the age of 88. She was a faithful and an active member of Grawood Baptist Church for 40 years where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She also worked with children and youth in various churches for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wade E. Hampton, infant son Wade E. Hampton, Jr., grandson Mathew Wade Hampton, two sisters and one brother. Gracie is survived by her son, Brian Wade Hampton and wife Sharon; daughters, Barbara E. Galbreath and husband David, Theresa G. Mullins and husband Mike, and S. Margurite Smith and husband Bill; brother, William T. Locke; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Grawood Baptist Church in Keithville, with Bro. Chris Willcutt and Bro. Russell Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, St. Vincent. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.
