Hardy M. Gregory

Hardy M. Gregory, 89, of Shreveport, passed away on March 15, 2025, after a brief illness. Hardy was born in Natchitoches to David and Eva Gregory on July 18, 1935, the youngest of five.

Hardy joined the United States Air Force in 1953 right out of high school. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Mary Kathleen Scott Gregory and just celebrated 67 years together. Hardy and Kathleen spent 23 years in the military EOD traveling to various bases in Korea, Guam, Idaho, Texas, Azores, and Utah having three children, Denise, Jody, and Beau, until he retired to Shreveport in 1976. Dad worked for a few companies before he became the Head of Grounds for SPAR (Shreveport Captains) and eventually retired from the City of Shreveport’s Traffic Engineer Division on April 30, 2001.

Hardy had a vast array of hobbies including golfing, bowling, fishing, softball, and watching football. In his later years, as his eyes faded, he enjoyed listening to NFL games, and although he loved the Saints, he was a die-hard Dallas fan. He also loved spending time with his bride and family.

Hardy is preceded in death by his parents, David and Eva Gregory; siblings, Yvone, Dorothy, David and Harry; grandson, Chance Garrett Gregory; and great-grandson, T. Fighter. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 67 years, Kathleen Gregory; children, Denise Bonnevier, Jody Gregory (Stacy), and Charles Gregory “Beau” (Lisa); grandchildren, Danielle Bonnevier, Kaitlin Dobbin (Shaun), Kassidy Lewis (Jordan), Christy Gregory, Steven Neal (Elizabeth), Courtney Santos (Jeremy) Kasey Smith, Tristain Bishop, Shelby Gregory, and Zach Tabor; great-grandchildren, Logan, Monroe, Landon, Maddox, Zoe, Bronson, Baylor, Khloe, Braydan, Abel, and Henry; as well as numerous extended family members.

Honoring Hardy as pallbearers will be Shelby Gregory, Shaun Dobbin, Jordan Lewis, Logan and Landon Dobbin, and Jeremy Santos. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Donald Hebert, Floyd Fontenot, Braydan Guyer, and Tristain Bishop.

My wish for all who knew and loved Hardy: May you see your loved one’s face through the eyes and the faces of your siblings and children, and that you’ll catch a glimpse of him smiling out at you.
