A memorial service for Harold R. Eldredge will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Catts.
Harold Raymond Eldredge was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 18, 1941. He was the only child to Pauline Buttermore and Frank Eldredge. Pauline would remarry and gave birth to his two brothers and two sisters, Michael, Paula, David, and Ellen. Hal was the caring, watchful big brother to his siblings. When Hal reached high school age, he left his family to stay in Gaylord, Michigan. His Stepfather had moved the family multiple times to different towns and schools. He was looking for some stability in his life and wanted to graduate at the high school in Gaylord.
On his eighteenth birthday in 1959, Hal enlisted into the United States Air Force. Harold R. Eldredge proudly served his country for 28 honorable years. He believed in the three sacred words of the military, duty, honor. and country. He ended his military career as Chief Master Sergeant while serving as the Commandant of NCO Academy Elmendorf Air Force Base. He continued his career with Holt Caterpillar as an instructional manager for their training department.
During his eighty-one years of life, Hal was always on the go! He enjoyed the outdoors. Loved to play golf and travel. He was always there to help his friends and neighbors. Enjoyed a cold beer and good conversation. Hal was a very caring father and husband to his family. He was married to Florence Ross for fifty wonderful years. Upon her passing, Hal was blessed again. He met Judy Bullard and they were married in April of 2015.Hal would want us all to remember him as a true American, a loving husband, and caring father!
