Harold D. Wingfield
Harold Wingfield, age 69, passed away at his home in Minden, Louisiana surrounded by his loving, adoring family on April 13, 2016. Harold was born to Wilburn and Thelma Wingfield on October 11, 1946 in Bluff City, Arkansas. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings Roger, Jack, Charles, Wade, and Martha, and brother-in-law Frank Glenn. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Charlotte, son Bret Wingfield and his wife Natylin, daughter Charlene Williams and her husband Rickie, six grandchildren Leslie and her husband Joshua Utley, Lauren, Lana, Brandon, Walker, and Mary Kathryn, brother Jimmie Wingfield and wife Linda, sister Shelvia Simmons, sister-in-law Donna Glenn, nieces Jenny Glenn and Shelby, father-in-law Albert Tyson, mother-in-law Marie and JC Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Harold proudly served in the United States Air Force, and he was also a diesel mechanic and business owner. He built a beautiful home on the family farm. After his retirement, Harold enjoyed raising cutting horses and working on his farm. Harold's love of mechanics led him to have great passion for drag racing. Over the last several years, the family has spent many weekends at race tracks, and Harold made many incredible friends who became his racing family. Harold was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather, and he was a true friend to many. There was nothing more important to Harold than his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 5-7pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. The service will be Friday, April 15, 2016 at 10:00am also at Rose-Neath. Serving as pallbearers are Bret Wingfield, Rickie Williams, Brandon Wingfield, Walker Williams, Joshua Utley, Rodney Aulds, Keith Hollenshead, and Brad Sylvester. Flowers are greatly appreciated, but if you would like, the family would also be honored by donations to the Louisiana Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The family wishes to express their deepest, most sincere thanks for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers from all of their family and friends.
