Harry Bishop Moore
SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Harry Bishop Moore, 82, will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel, Shreveport, LA, with burial to follow at Holley Springs Cemetery, Martin, LA. Officiating will be Dr. Gregg Davis. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Harry was born in Goldonna, LA on September 17, 1933 to Lawson and Myrle Moore and passed away on September 17, 2015 in Bossier City, LA. He was president of the sophomore, junior classes, and student body President at Northwestern State College. Harry was a member of the Senior Hall of Fame and was a member of Phi Kappa Nu Fraternity. Harry was also an avid fisherman. He loved his boat, camp, and having fish fries with his family and friends. Harry was a retired Colonel from the Army Reserves after 33 years of service and was a retired administrator from LSU Shreveport. He enjoyed coaching his children in sports and especially his grandchildren's sports accomplishments.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawson Moore, Jr., and Allison N. Moore; sisters, Joy Moore Webb, and Jean Moore Kelley. Leaving to cherish Harry's memory is his wife of 61 years Betty Lou Smith Moore of Shreveport, LA; son, Harry Clayton Moore and wife, Connie of Monroe, LA; daughter, Melissa Anne Moore Dellocono and husband, Michael of Baton Rouge, LA; brother William Thurman Moore and wife, Sue of Plain Dealing, LA; grandchildren, Stephanie Dellocono of New Orleans, LA, Holly Dellocono of North Hollywood, CA, Vincent Dellocono of Baton Rouge, LA, Ainsley Moore Wiggins and husband, Jordan of West Monroe, LA, and Vincent Moore of Monroe, LA; sister-in-law, Laura Jean Duco and husband John of Coushatta, LA, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Honoring Harry as pallbearers will be Vincent Dellocono, Greg Ebarb, Ed Moore, Vincent Moore, Lewis Sams, and JJ Keeth.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clay Brock, John Duco, Jr., Roy Underwood, Charles Varnell, Carl McAlister, Jack McCain, Jr., and Sam Renda.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff, nurses, administration, Dr. Fleniken, at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home and a special thanks to Michi Carter, his faithful sitter.
