Graveside Services will be held for Harry Shirey, age 95, at Weldon Cemetery in Weldon, LA, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 2:30 p.m., with Dan Foster, officiating. Visitation will be graveside from 2-2:30p.m., prior to the service.

Harry was born in Weldon on October 16, 1927, to Myra Lee and Thomas Clifford Shirey. He entered into rest on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at his home in Weldon.  Harry was an avid outdoors man always looking for an opportunity to go hunting or fishing. He farmed and had a variety of animals over the years on his farm. Harry loved to go visit or have someone come visit with him. His favorite past time was coon hunting and he loved his coon dogs.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and a brother; and a son, ”Eddy” Shirey.

He is survived by his three sons, Gary, Terry, and Ricky and wife Dot; two daughters, Karen Shirey and Beth Camp and husband Zane; fifteen grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; thirteen great, great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Allen Shirey, Justin Shirey, Kanton Brown, Hunter Gardner, James Laird, and Jerry Stewart.

In lieu of flowers honoring Harry, his family suggests memorials be made to Weldon Cemetery Fund.
