Hazel Ilean Childers

Hazel Ilean Childers, 80, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 5, 1942, in Randolph County, Alabama, to Verney Kaylor Craven and Mary Nelson Craven.

Hazel enjoyed life to its fullest with a cup of coffee, a western and her puppy Roux-Ann on her lap every morning. Some of her hobbies included gardening, sewing and fishing, but her true passion was her family. She loved and adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was loved and cherished by many and will be greatly missed.

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Kenneth Childers, Sr.; son, Brian Childers. She is survived by her sons, Paul Kenneth Childers, Jr. and wife Debbie, Richard R. Childers and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Erica Reed and husband, Robert, Paul K. “PK” Childers, III and wife, Christina, Cody Childers, and Collin Childers, Wayde Childers, Bray Childers and Paige; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Reed, Mia Reed, and Jace Childers.

The family would like to give a thank you to the doctors and nursing staff that took great care of her at Willis Knighton Bossier and Willis Knighton North.

The family of Hazel will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
