Funeral services for Helen Keeth Jones, 90, will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Brother Chad Hardbarger.
Helen was born on October 3, 1933, to Sam Mann Keeth and Clarice Hembree Keeth in Bossier City, Louisiana, and went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
Helen graduated from Bossier High School in 1952 and later received her master’s degree from Baptist Christian College.
She married the love of her life, Marshall Marion Jones, and was his loving wife for 50 years. During that time, they owned/operated Baldwin Music Company for 33 years and had a thriving business selling pianos and organs. Later after leaving the piano/organ business, Helen began a new career in the funeral business and became a licensed Funeral Director for Rose-Neath and remained with them for 10 years.
She’s known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Nana” and “Nannie”, and affectionately known as “Auntie Helen” to her nieces and nephews, and many others that aren’t related.
As a Baptist Christian, she enjoyed sharing her faith and the plan of salvation with everybody. Helen and Marshall were faithful members of Emmanuel Baptist Church until his immobility kept them at home. Even then, they would watch the live stream from Emmanuel Baptist on her phone. She enjoyed watching all of the Sunday services on TV; Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah, James McMenis of Word of God, Haughton Baptist Church, Texarkana Baptist Church, and Broadmoor Baptist Church. She loved listening to music on her phone, especially Ivan Parker and the Gaithers.
In her earlier years, Helen enjoyed getting her brushes and oil paints to create beautiful paintings on canvas. Many were given to friends and others were hung all over the house. She also enjoyed sitting down at a piano and playing for hours.
Meeting her in heaven are her husband, Marshall Marion Jones; mother, and daddy; sister, Mary-Ruth Keeth; son, Robert Keeth Harris; daughter, Carman Staci Jones-White, and stepdaughter, Jennifer Denise Jones-Barker. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Buddy Keeth, and wife, Brenda; son, Steven Ray Harris, and wife, Karen; daughter, Kimberly Richard, and husband, Ellis; special niece who was more like a daughter, Sandra Guidry-Insley; fur baby, KiKi; step-daughters, Diane Ferras (Ignacio), and Deborah Solice; step-sons, John David Jones (Cheryl), and Ronnie Dale Jones (Kimberly) and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Anthony Stuart and his nurse, Gail, for many years of care and friendship. Dr. Kiser, Willis Knighton Health Systems, Intensive Specialty Hospital, the techs, the therapists, and everyone who assisted Helen on this journey, thank you.
The family suggests donations may be made to Shriners Hospital, donate.lovetotherescue.org, Saint Jude Hospital, www.stjude.org, or any charity of your choice.
