Coushatta, LA - Celebration of life and going home service for Helen Lee McFarland, 87, was held Monday, August 28, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Coushatta at 11:00 AM with Reverend Larry Pridmore officiating and assisted by Reverend Lee Dickson. Interment followed at Springville Cemetery in Coushatta, LA. Visitation was held Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Mrs. McFarland was born September 5, 1929, in Mansfield, LA to Earl F. and Priscilla Callie Johnson and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 26, 2017, in Alexandria, LA. She was married to Owen Lee for 38 years being blessed with four children and grandchildren until his passing. She remarried Robert McFarland for 22 years being blessed with his children and grandchildren until his passing. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands; step-son, Larry McFarland; brothers, Earl Johnson, Jr., Raymond Johnson and Jerald Johnson.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Kenneth Lee and wife, Kim of Mansfield, LA; Kevin Lee and wife, Amy of Many, LA; step-sons, Phil McFarland and wife, Jayne of Houston, TX, and Keith McFarland and wife, Denice of Doyline, LA; daughters, Wilma Swofford and husband, Dennis, of Jenkins, MO, Ellen Dunlap and husband, Ronnie of Vick, LA; step-daughters, Sandi Miller and husband, Randy and Cheryl Winfrey, both of Iowa, LA; sisters, Minnie Hull and husband, Bill of Springfield, MO, Nell Strickland of Azle, TX; twelve grandchildren, Melanie Hughes, Meredith Rogers, Jamie Walding, Randi Walding, Taylor Lee, Kailey Leach, Tanner Lee Savannah Lee, Tiffany Bohmke, Amy Swofford, Callie Dischler and Caleb Dunlap; fourteen step-grandchildren, Chris McFarland, Julie McFarland, Mandy Bush, Jacob Carfield, Brittany Myers, Evan McFarland, Kelly McFarland, Dennis Miller, Dana Miller, Russell Winfrey, Duhe Winfrey, Beau Winfrey, Jennifer Mize and Rob McFarland; ten great-grandchildren; seventeen step-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Brad Hughes, Taylor Lee, Kade Rogers, Tanner Lee, Eric Bohmke, and Brock Hughes.
