HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mrs. Helen Marlene Hamilton Moore, 85, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, Louisiana Friday, October 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Brian Thurman officiating. Interment followed in Arlington Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home at 9 a.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Moore was born August 5, 1930 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Aubrey Howell Hamilton and Nellie Virsno Grimsely Hamilton. She entered into rest Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in Homer, Louisiana following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Moore worked as a bank teller at Homer National Bank where she was employed for over 27 years. Well known for her kindness, customers would intentionally wait in line for her to assist them with any need they had. Outside of work, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, teaching Sunday school, and spending time with her husband and family. Mrs. Moore left behind a legacy of faith and love.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 38 years, Royce Reginald Moore; a sister, Reba Hamilton; and two brothers, James A. Hamilton and Bobby Hamilton.
She is survived by her daughter Ann Anderson and husband Ronnie; a granddaughter, Christy Hall and husband Billy; four great-grandchildren, Levi, Helen, Marion, and Vivian all of Homer; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
