Helen Leone Schoth
Many, LA - Mrs. Helen Leone Schoth was born on June 13, 1926 to Eli and Fannie Leone of Zwolle, Louisiana. She went peacefully to be with her Lord on May 12, 2016.
Helen was married at the age of eighteen to Harry Marshall Schoth of Beason, Illinois. They started their life together there, on the Schoth family farm. They parented six of their children on the family farm. A tragedy took the life of their 18 month old son, Michael Harry Schoth in the summer of 1960. Five years later the family relocated to Helen's Home town of Zwolle, Louisiana. They were then blessed with two more children, making her the mother of eight. In 1972, the family purchased a home in Many, Louisiana where she resided for many years. Helen was an active member at St. John's Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic minister. Helen was a beautiful, classy lady with numerous accomplishments. She was a very creative, generous and compassionate woman with a flair for decorating. She loved the holidays and baking for her friends and family. Her children especially remember the Easter and Christmas tea rings.
Mrs. Schoth was preceded in death by her husband Harry Marshall Schoth, son Michael Harry Schoth, and granddaughter Deanna Schoth Leth. Survivors include: Five sons, Gary Gus Schoth and wife, Linda; Marshall Lynn Schoth and wife, Denise; Mark Wayne Schoth and wife, Kim; Joseph Anthony Schoth and wife, Trish; Todd David Schoth and wife, Mercedes; Two daughters, Marsha Jan Malmay and the late Larry Malmay, and Margaret Amy Schoth; 17 grandchildren, Kim, Brad, Chris, Marsha, Bridget, Amber, Jacob, Caleb, Josh, Hannah, Angela, Andrea, Marshall, Michael, Marissa, Dylan, and Briana; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Helen also had a host of loving nieces and nephews along with many close and wonderful friends.
Pallbearers/Grandsons: Brad Schoth, Chris Schoth, Jacob Schoth, Caleb Schoth, Josh Schoth, Marshall Schoth, Michael Schoth, and Dylan Longlois. Honorary pallbearers/Great-Grandsons: Larry Dingle, Tyler Schoth and Mason Schoth.
The funeral mass will be held Monday, May 16 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church in Many, La.
