SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Helen Tapia will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. James Hill. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens North Cemetery, Blanchard, LA. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA. Helen was born September 1, 1929 in Worth Township, IL and died July 4, 2016 in Bossier City, LA. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lutheran faith. Helen was very devoted to her family and loved being with them. Her husband, Celestino Tapia; parents, Julius Huber and Anna Rippe Huber; three brothers and one sister preceded Helen in death. Helen is survived by her daughters, Celeste Tapia and husband, Michael Edwards of Milan, IL, Elizabeth Webb of Shreveport, LA, Esther Tapia and husband, Walter Price of Baton Rouge, LA, Rhonda Briggs and husband, Kenneth of Shreveport, LA; sisters, Lois Lysholm of Tinley Park, IL, Eleanor Ruggeri of Cedar Lake, IN; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
