Helen Williams

A memorial service will be held for Helen Williams (Granny), 94, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Blanchard, 201 Attaway St., Blanchard, Louisiana.

Helen was born on December 14, 1929, to Howard Moore and Juanita Moore in Corsicana, Texas and passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Helen was a graduate of Fair Park High School. She then went on to dedicate her life to serving others through her work as a nurse. Her career spanned decades, including stints at Doctor’s Hospital, and a remarkable 20 years at LSU Hospital in the recovery department.

Helen’s nurturing nature extended beyond the hospital walls; she was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her professional accomplishments and dedication to her family, Helen found joy and solace in her faith as a member of the First Baptist Church of Blanchard.

As we mourn the loss of Helen Williams, we also celebrate a life well-lived, a life marked by selflessness, generosity, and unwavering love.

Helen was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Ferguson, Sr., and Frenchie Williams; daughter, Vicky Anderson; sons, Lester Ferguson, and Robert Ferguson, Jr.; sister, Pat Lee, and grandson, Robert Ferguson, III. She is survived by Lynn Martin and husband, Frank; grandchildren, Russell Rogers and wife, Cheryl, Daniel Ferguson, Rachael Launer and husband, Frank, Heather Medlin and husband, Charles; great-grandchildren, Jackson Rogers, Alison Giglio and husband, Andrew, Dylan and Victoria Launer, Robert Ferguson, IV, Bre’ahna Ferguson, Brittney Ferguson, Matthew, and Joshua Medlin; great-great-grandchildren, Noella, Bradon, and Grayson Ferguson.
