Helena Gregory Cates

Funeral services for Helena Gregory Cates, 79, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Eppes Cemetery, in the 6400 block of Greenwood Rd., Shreveport, LA 71119. Officiating the service will be Pastor Carlton Gilmore. Helena was born on October 28, 1941 in Newburgh, New York to John and Mary Gregory and passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Helena is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ezra James Sidney Cates; brothers, Thomas Gregory and John Gregory and her beloved dog, Buck. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Catherine Parks and Shirley Morgan; sisters, Rose Marie Decker and Mary Walker; grandchildren, Sue Ellen Bates and husband, Denson, Kimberly Peart and husband, Spencer, Jennifer Kruithof and husband, Charles, Robert Johnson and wife, Lauren, David Parks and wife, Sabri and Christopher Parks; numerous great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and numerous other friends and family members. Honoring Helena as pallbearers will be David Parks, Christopher Parks, Robert Johnson, Landon Johnson, Bradley Johnson, Jamie Kruithof, Devon Kruithof, Keaton Bates, Jacobie Parks and Jayce Parks.
