Henry Allen Boggs

WASKOM, TX - Funeral services celebrating the life of Henry Allen Boggs, 74, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Rose-Neath Logansport Chapel. Interment will follow at Longstreet Cemetery in Longstreet, LA. Officiating will be his grandson, Shelby Carl Thomas. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the funeral home. Henry was born on February 2, 1942 in Shreveport to Victor Boggs and Velma Mercer Boggs. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Johnny Boggs, twin-brother, Albert Lynn Boggs, Sr., brother, Victor Hollis Boggs; sisters, Berlamae Shepard and Jean Coutee, his son, Henry Allen Boggs, Jr. and grandson, Christopher Harvey. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, David Boggs and wife, Frances, Mark Boggs, and Randy Boggs Johnson and wife, Felicia; daughters, Cynthia Boggs Thomas and Melissa Boggs; grandchildren, Brandy Guimbellot, Shelby Carl Thomas, Jason Boggs, Carson Boggs, Daniel Boggs, Sophia Boggs, Lindsey Boggs Knight, Dylan Mark Boggs, Chelsea Marie Johnson, Lewis Chase Johnson and Cheyenne Johnson; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Phillips, along with numerous, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Honoring Henry as pallbearers will be Mark Boggs, David Boggs, Carson Boggs, Randy Boggs Johnson, Shelby Thomas, and Lewis Johnson. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Johnny Smith, Albert Boggs, Jr., and James Boggs. 1 Peter 3: 3-4 "Do not let your adorning be external - the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear- but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious."
