Henry Donald Davis

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Henry Donald Davis, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the funeral home. Henry was born on June 18, 1928 in Haynesville, LA to Orvin and Irene Davis and passed away on January 19, 2016. Henry proudly served his country in the National Guard. His love of music led to him becoming a legend in the Louisiana Hayride Hall of Fame and was an original member of the Hayride. He met and married Edna Gilbert and raised 2 sons together. Preceding Henry in death were his parents, and his wife, Edna. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Rodney Don Davis, and Kenneth Wayne Davis and wife, Cheryl; step-daughter, Susan Scriber and husband, Don; grandchildren, Justin Davis and wife, Katie, Krystle Davis, Drew Davis, Rachel Briggs and husband, Jeff, Jessica Lawrason and husband, Steve; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Francis and husband, Johnny, and Janice Bilton. Henry also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
