Shreveport, LA - Memorial services for Henry Elaine Dreyfuss, 88, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018, at B'nai Zion Congregation, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rabbi Dr. Jana L. De Benedetti.
Henry Elaine was born August 20, 1929, in Shreveport, LA to Rosabel and Henry Cahn and passed away peacefully on March 12, 2018. She was a lifetime member and former President of the Sisterhood of B'nai Zion Congregation. A graduate of C.E. Byrd High School, Hockaday and the University of Missouri she went on to raise a family and then a successful career in real estate. She was passionate about music and art, playing the clarinet and making needlepoint. She loved sports and games, especially later in life playing backgammon and Canasta.
She was preceded in death by her son, Lee Edward Dreyfuss and her husband of 65 years, Jules Henry Dreyfuss. She is survived by two sons, Robert Cahn Dreyfuss, and wife Amy and Jules Henry "Hank" Dreyfuss and wife, Mimi; grandchildren, Jessica Dreyfuss, Elizabeth Quiat and husband, Dan, Katherine Dreyfuss, Derek Dreyfuss and Hannah Dreyfuss; great grandchildren, Noa and Eve Quiat, and sister, Carolyn "Sis" Fleishman.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to B'nai Zion Congregation, 245 Southfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71105 or to the Alzheimer Association at alz.org.
