SHREVEPORT, LA- Funeral services for Henry Calvin Seago, 81, will be held Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Keith Payne and Rev. Gary Palmer. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday July 16, 2014 at the funeral home.
Surrounded by his loved ones, Calvin passed away peacefully on July 14, 2014 in Shreveport. He was born in Logansport on December 12 1932 to Jessie and Mamie Seago. He was an active and beloved member of his community and Bethany Baptist Church. He was a retired driver for Foremost Dairies. He was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing with friends and his grandsons. He would always give a helping hand to any friends in need. Calvin could always be seen with that familiar smile and rarely left those he met without one.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby Seago, his parents and brother, Alton Seago. He is survived by his son, Glen Seago and wife, Vivian, daughter, Ellen Richardson and husband, Brad; grandchildren, Dana Volkmar, Jacob Richardson and wife, Kelli and John Garrett Richardson and wife, Katelyn; numerous great-grandchildren and sibling, Marlton Seago.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Richardson, John Garrett Richardson, Kenneth Seago, Ken Cummings, Don May, Jesse Chandler and Ernest Rodrigues. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School class at Bethany Baptist Church.
Granddaddy as he was known will be truly missed by his family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund.
