Henry Marvin Simmons, Jr.

Graveside services for Henry Marvin Simmons, Jr., 85, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Forest Park East Cemetery with Rev. Kevan Arinder officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Henry was born August 20, 1932 in Shreveport to Henry and Orianna Simmons and went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2018 in Shreveport. He spent his whole life in Shreveport. He attended C.E. Byrd High School. Henry enjoyed playing music at the Louisiana Hay Ride. He retired from General Motors and spent his retirement years befriending people in nursing homes and assisting them with their needs. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ann Marie Moody; and nephew, Robert Moody. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Penni Calhoun and husband Joshua; granddaughter, Devin Adams; grandsons, Anthony R. Graves and Johnathan T. Graves; one niece and one nephew. Memorials may be made to the Cottages at the Glen.
