Herbert Johnn Busi IV

Herbert Johnn Busi IV, a beloved son, father, brother, friend, and husband passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on June 4, 1984, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Herb lived a life full of intellectual curiosity, an artistic drive, with a strong sense of humor, and love. 

Herb was the cherished son Herbert John Busi III (his “best bud ) and Patsy Busi. He was preceded in death by his half-sister, Angela Busi Doe. He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Percival, and their beautiful children, Isabella Busi and Herbert John Busi V; his sisters, Kellye Busi and Emma Busi, as well as his half-sister, Lesley Rickman. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will miss him.

Herb attended Brother Martin Catholic High School and later pursued higher education at the University of New Orleans. Throughout his life, he was known for his original thinking and keen eye for details. Herb had a genuine love for food and the finer things in life; he was often found tweaking recipes and sharing his culinary creations with family and friends. Though he never could take a compliment for a successful dish! 

Herb was a man dedicated to his creativity and his passions. His zest for life was contagious, and he had an innate ability to light up a room with his laughter and quick wit. As a self-taught musician, he found immense joy in playing the guitar. He was a talented writer and storyteller, always knowing how to make you crack a smile even on the hardest days. Herb had a unique ability to connect with people on a deep level, often serving as a kind ear for friends. He loved his children dearly and took great delight in watching them grow into the wonderful individuals they are becoming. He was working hard to become the best, most stable version of himself that he could be, before he left us. 

A Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. directly followed by the funeral on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans, located at 939 Jordan Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. This service will be an opportunity for family and friends to gather together to honor Herb's memory and celebrate the impact he had on so many lives.
