Herbert Holcomb Johnson Jr.

A memorial service for Herbert H. Johnson Jr., 80, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. Rev. Bryan Dauphin will officiate. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 2 p.m. Mr. Johnson was born on June 26, 1937 in Shreveport, LA. He passed away on June 6, 2018 following a short illness. Mr. Johnson grew up in Doyline, LA where he graduated from Doyline High School. He then attended Louisiana Tech University, and after graduation began a career in construction, transitioning to land development in recent years. He loved hunting, fishing and watching sports, especially football. He also loved being "Pops" to his six grandchildren. Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Holcomb Johnson, his mother, Eugenia Gatling Johnson, his brother, William Henry Johnson, sisters, Jeannette J. Chumbley, Jettie J. James, and Margaret E. Lynn. He is survived by his daughter, Genia Johnson Hudnall of Mandeville, LA, his son, Bradley H. Johnson of Conway, AR, six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his fiancée, Ms. Sue Cotner. The family would like to express their appreciation to The Carrington Place of Springhill, and all of his caregivers while at home.
