Shreveport, LA- Graveside services for Herbert "Bill" William Manwaring, 70, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating will be Monsignor Carson LaCaze. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 6 p.m. until 8p.m. at Rose-Neath's Southside.
Bill was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 27, 1945. He peacefully passed away on February 27, 2015 due to Alzheimer's Disease. Bill attended schools in the Cleveland area. Those who knew him best would not be surprised at him being president of his senior class, and left Cleveland only to join the United States Navy and serving his country during the Vietnam War. His final duty station was the Naval Reserve Center, in Shreveport, La, where he met his wife of 42 years, Jacqueline Kinzer Manwaring.
Bill was always a happy man filled with energy and love for life. With a vivacious personality, he excelled in sales and won many awards for success and achievements. Bill never met a stranger and found conversation to be spontaneous. He was a member of Saint John Berchman's Cathedral and an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.
Bill, a wonderful husband and father, is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Manwaring, children, Jennifer Manwaring Morrow, William and his wife Alyson Manwaring; grandchildren, Jessica, Allen, Ethan and Avery, brother, James Manwaring and wife Pamela.
Bill was honored to call Chuck Golightly and Robert Turner his friends.
The Honor Guard is under the direction CPO Robert Turner, USNR Retired.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons, Ethan Manwaring, Allen Miller, son, William Manwaring, brother, James Manwaring, dear friends, Chuck Golightly, and Robert Turner.
