Herbert Odis McMellon

JOAQUIN,TX---Funeral services honoring the life of Herbert O. McMellon, 94, will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, LA with Brother Tommy McMellon officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Center, TX. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 10AM till time of service. Herbert was born on May 14, 1923 to Odis and Della Butler McMellon and entered into rest on August 9, 2017 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Carl McMellon, John McMellon, Clarence Brashier; one sister, Elva Ruth Belsha; and stepfather, Burdette Brashier. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy McMellon; son, Alton Odis McMellon and his wife Doris Ann of Stonewall, LA; daughters, Kathy Lynn Savage and her husband Tony of La Grange, KY, Melinda Guccione and her husband Ronald of Belle Chasse, LA; sister, Valrie Rachal of Liberty, TX; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Honoring the life of Herbert as pallbearers will be Daniel Hawks, Bryan Hawks, Justin Hawks, Cameron Wisher, Matthew Wisher, and Eric Guccione.
