BLANCHARD LA - Services for Herman Owen Scott, 86, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Norris. Interment will follow at Frazier Cemetery, Magnolia, AR beginning at 3:00 pm. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Scott was born on January 19, 1928 in Ashdown, AR to Hosie Owen and Nellie Coble Scott and died July 30, 2014 at his residence in Blanchard, LA. Herman was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He served from 1945 to 1948. Herman owned and operated auto repair shops in Guymon and Ringwood, Oklahoma in the late 50\'s through the early 70\'s. He was well known for his Red Wiggler worm farm, loved to fish and watch western movies. He loved all creatures great and small and had many pets, a goat named Peabody, a chicken named Foghorn, a bird named George, and many cats and dogs.
Herman is preceded in death by his parents; son, Herman Owen Scott, II; granddaughter, Sandra Scott Oliver. Left to cherish many loving memories is his loving wife of 68 years, Emma Jean Norris Scott; daughters, Patricia L. McCoy and husband, William, Katheryn M. Martin and husband, Arthur; sons, Michael O. Scott and wife Mai, Jonathan N. Scott and wife, LaBrisha; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Honoring Herman as pallbearers will be Jeff Vassar, JR Vassar, Rodney Bexley, AJ Martin, Wayne Allen and Heston Scott.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Frazier Cemetery in Magnolia, AR.
