Arcadia - A Memorial Service for Hester Lane Smith, will be held at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Mt. Olive on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Hester Lane Smith was born March 17, 1939 in Bienville, Louisiana to J.D. and Myrtle Irene Kirkham Smith. He entered into rest on May 6, 2016 in Minden, Louisiana. Hester worked as a roughneck for Sawyer Drilling. He is preceded in death by his parents J.D. and Myrtle Smith, sister Lodee Hawkins and by brothers John and David Smith. He is survived by his daughter Penny Hudson, sisters Minnie Wall, Bernice Johnson, JoAnn Cook, Patsy Murray, Sharon Calhoun, Lorrie Culver and Debbie Meyers, by brother Bobby Joe Smith, grandchildren Brittany Treadway and Skylar Dye, great grandchildren Brantley and Ayden, with another on the way, by his uncle Harold Kirkham, and by numerous other nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
